Our Services
Certification & Compliance
Passive fire protection is only effective when every element of a building has been designed, manufactured, installed and tested as a complete certified system. Fire doors, compartment walls, service penetrations and associated components all work together to maintain compartmentation and protect lives. If one element fails, the integrity of the entire fire strategy can be compromised.
We provide complete certification and compliance management across every stage of the process. Working alongside manufacturers, timber importers, contractors, developers, architects, fire engineers, UKAS-accredited laboratories and third-party certification bodies, we manage the technical journey from product manufacture through to final certification and building handover.
Unlike traditional fire door contractors, our role extends far beyond installation. We coordinate testing, certification, technical compliance, product selection, quality assurance and documentation, ensuring every passive fire protection element satisfies current legislation, recognised British Standards and third-party accreditation requirements.

Fire Door Testing
We inspect and test fire doors against recognised guidance, including BS 8214 (Code of Practice for Fire Door Assemblies), BS 9999, and the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Building Regulations Approved Document B, and the Building Safety Act 2022. We also assess installations against the manufacturer’s installation instructions, fire test evidence and field of application reports to ensure the complete door set remains within its certified scope.
Fire door performance is typically classified as FD30, FD60, FD90 or FD120, providing 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes of fire resistance respectively. Our inspections verify that the complete assembly meets the requirements necessary to achieve its designated fire rating and certification.
Working closely with third-party accreditation bodies, certification schemes and fire door manufacturers, we help clients demonstrate compliance through independently recognised certification processes. We liaise directly with certification providers to ensure fire doors are assessed against approved systems and tested constructions, enabling contractors, developers and building owners to obtain the evidence and certification required for regulatory compliance.
Where deficiencies are identified, we provide clear technical guidance and practical remedial recommendations. Our reports identify the root cause and specify the corrective action required to restore compliance.

Wall Partitions
Our fire wall partition testing, inspection and compliance services provide independent technical assessment of compartment walls, ensuring they achieve the fire resistance required by the building’s fire strategy and relevant British and European Standards.

We assess partition systems against the requirements of BS EN 1364-1 for non-loadbearing walls and BS EN 1365 for loadbearing wall systems, with fire resistance classifications determined in accordance with BS EN 13501-2. These classifications are expressed as EI30, EI60, EI90 or EI120, measuring both the wall’s Integrity (E) - its ability to prevent the passage of flames and hot gases - and Insulation (I) - its ability to limit heat transfer to the non-fire side of the compartment.
Fire performance relies on every component being installed exactly as specified within the manufacturer’s tested construction. This includes the stud framework, board type and thickness, cavity insulation, fixing centres, joint treatments, perimeter seals, deflection head details and all supporting construction.

We also inspect every penetration and interface within the partition system. Services such as pipework, electrical containment, HVAC ducts and cable trays must be protected using tested fire-stopping systems that maintain the fire resistance of the compartment wall. Particular attention is given to wall junctions, movement joints, ceiling interfaces and service penetrations, as these are common areas where compartmentation failures occur.

Pipe & Service Penetrations
We assess every penetration against the original fire strategy, manufacturer guidance and third-party tested systems. This includes identifying the type of service passing through the compartment line, the construction of the surrounding wall or floor, the fire rating required, and whether the installed fire-stopping system is suitable for the application.

We inspect all forms of service penetrations, including metallic pipework, combustible plastic pipework, insulated pipe systems, sprinkler pipework, HVAC services and mixed service penetrations. Particular attention is given to the compatibility of fire collars, wraps, sealants, ablative coatings, mineral wool systems and other passive fire protection products, ensuring they are installed exactly as specified within the relevant fire test evidence and field of application.

Acoustics
Acoustic performance is measured on the complete door set, not simply the door leaf. Every component contributes to the overall sound reduction, including the door leaf, frame, glazing systems, intumescent and acoustic seals, threshold details, ironmongery and the quality of installation. Even small variations in component specification or installation can significantly reduce both acoustic performance and fire certification.
Our testing is carried out in accordance with BS EN ISO 10140, the recognised European Standard for laboratory measurement of airborne sound insulation. The results are expressed as the Weighted Sound Reduction Index (Rw), measured in decibels (dB), which provides a single-number rating of the doorset’s ability to reduce airborne noise transmission.
Typical acoustic performance ratings include:
• Rw 30 dB – Suitable for general applications requiring basic sound reduction.
• Rw 35 dB – Commonly specified for residential apartments and housing developments.
• Rw 40–45 dB – Frequently required in healthcare environments, hotels, offices and education facilities where higher levels of privacy are essential.
• Rw 50 dB and above – High-performance acoustic solutions for specialist environments requiring exceptional sound insulation.

Carpentry & Fittings
As part of our project management services, we offer specialist carpentry and installation with extensive experience in passive fire protection.

Working closely with timber importers, manufacturers, contractors and building owners, we manage container-load deliveries of door leaves and transform them into fully compliant, performance-tested fire door sets.

We also provide independent door hardware procurement and specification services, sourcing fully compatible, fire-tested ironmongery from trusted manufacturers. By ensuring every component is suitable for its intended fire rating and application, we eliminate compatibility issues and help clients achieve fully compliant, certifiable fire door assemblies.

Fire door certification extends far beyond the door itself. Certified ironmongery and hardware specification is critical. Every component must be compatible with the tested door set.

We source, specify and verify compliant hinges, locks, escape hardware, door closers, handles, cylinders, flush bolts, door selectors, hold-open devices, threshold systems and intumescent protection products

All hardware is selected using certified fire test evidence, manufacturer approvals and field of application documentation to ensure compatibility with the complete assembly.
